Marilyn Bullock Bernardini, 83, of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, January 16, 2014. She was born in Halifax County to Alex and Annie Pace Bullock. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Laura Pearson, Marie Case, Vera Lee Bellcross and Annie Boyd; brothers, Richard Bullock, Alex Bullock and Willie Bullock.

Marilyn was a retired registered nurse. She served for a time as a Peace Corp volunteer.

Marilyn is survived by two daughters; Gail McLeod of Sacramento, California, and Debra Castro of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Jeremy Odom, Nate Starace, Laura Lane and Jason Starace; sister, Evelyn Hunnicutt; and her brother, Curtis Bullock and his wife, Annie, of Lake Gaston.

Funeral services for Marilyn will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church with Father Pius Wekesa officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
